Our Mission
The Board of Airline Representatives in Switzerland (B.A.R.) is the partnership of airlines who operate scheduled traffic from/to Switzerland or who are represented by a sales office in Switzerland. It is hereby constituted in accordance with Article 60 et seq of the Swiss Civil Code.
The Partnership shall safeguard the local interests of its membership and take appropriate measures with Swiss government authorities, regulatory bodies and other entities as the case may be. The Partnership is a non-profit body. The managing bodies of the Partnership are: The General Meeting, the Executive Meeting, the Auditors and the Executive Officer.

The increasingly competitive environment in which airlines operate, combined with developments in anti-trust policies in Europe, in the US and in the rest of the world, urge B.A.R. Switzerland towards firm vigilance at any time in their General Assembly meetings and other B.A.R. gatherings, whether bilateral or multilateral.
Consequently B.A.R. Switzerland does NOT engage itself in:
Non compliance with these provisions of conduct shall result in an expulsion from the association.

Provisions of Conduct
The increasingly competitive environment in which airlines operate, combined with developments in anti-trust policies in Europe, in the US and in the rest of the world, urge B.A.R. Switzerland towards firm vigilance at any time in their General Assembly meetings and other B.A.R. gatherings, whether bilateral or multilateral.
Consequently B.A.R. Switzerland does NOT engage itself in:
- Matters concerning prices, pricing policies and agency remunerations
- Matters of any other commercial policies between its members and their distribution channels
- Matters of commercial competition and debate between B.A.R. members
- Exchange of sensitive customer data
- B.A.R. members or observers are to fully comply with these B.A.R. Provisions of Conduct, and are supposed to be aware that any discussion regarding such matters, or concerning any other competitively sensitive topics inside or outside the scope of the meetings agenda, either on the floor or off, is strictly prohibited.
Non compliance with these provisions of conduct shall result in an expulsion from the association.
![]() | Application for Membership Each scheduled air-carrier having a representative in or for Switzerland may announce to the Executive Officer its wish to be a member of the Partnership, and shall in such case designate a full-time own staff member to represent it in the Partnership. Alliances membership is possible. Special criteria apply. The designated staff member must have the highest managerial responsibility for the air-carrier's activities in Switzerland. General Sales Agents are allowed to represent the air-carrier before thePartnership subject to special provisos. Meetings may only be attended by the designated Representative of the air-carrier. Membership of the Partnership is voluntary. Representatives of new members are required to submit an accreditation questionnaire completed by the carrier's head-office. Representatives shall inform the Executive Officer of their successor. |
